Thank you for calling out the nearly invisible normalized judgement around needing rest. You're spot-on, and speaking as someone who absolutely has a habit of judging herself for needing rest, you've given me lots to think about. Thank you. ❤️

I needed to hear this today - I still struggle mentally with rest and I’m at home with tonsillitis this weekend after powering through this week with both me and both my kids under 5 full of cold and staying mostly indoors rather than enjoying the summer sun.

Rest is a physical need. And heaping guilt on top of fatigue is not going to help me get better!!

Keep up the awesome work you wonderful human 💜

Yay I love it when the newsletter drops! (though I'm always like: where did the time go??) Always lovely to hear about what you've been up to. Tbh August was masters dissertation writing season which has continued into September. But I also found time to spend time with people I love and it's so fulfilling to do that. & I've been settling into a new house share with new housemates. Phew! September is for resting and getting more life in the work life balance 💃

I'm so happy that you continue writing these updates about your life and your internal dialog. It helps me pause and ask myself questions that I may not have taken the time to ask. It brings me joy to see you experiencing joy. Thank you for being you, out loud, in public, for the whole world to admire.

As always, my month is made all the more bright by you, MJC, you rockstar gem of a sparkle in this world. I am facing up to the eating disorder I have used as an emotional crutch (albeit a woeful one!) my whole life - committing to coaching, as an investment in the future people like you Megan have planted a seed of hope for. I have even started my own Substack to put my words out there, my words giving voice to the healing of my wounded heart. Here in Melbourne we have just welcomed Spring - and with it, sunshiney days just bursting with opportunity. Good on you, Ms Megan for challenging your identity as the sad-one: for me, it is time to be safe to be vulnerable when I am feeling it. My identity has always been the bright, cheery, and optimistic one for others when I am sobbing inside. Happy September to all the crew, and love to all <3

Happy one year (to you and this community!!) I feel very lucky to get a glimpse of your life and share in your joy - and also have your words each month reminding me to treat myself with more kindness, and look for all the colour and joy in my own life. Thank you xo

Wow Megan that's a lot in one month absolutely amazing well done super ✨ sounds all great fun but socialising can be tiring nonetheless.

I am sending extra love and hugs to anyone who may need this right now. From the north sending love up and down the country wherever you may be here is a hug! I hope everyone is doing as well as can be.

It's a busy time for me. I did my radio interview wow it was amazing I can't wait to become a radio presenter in the future.

I'm packing up and moving to uni halls soon it's a stressful time but seriously can't wait only 10 sleeps to go in my current home then I'm off. It will be great fun but with chronic health it's the added pressure I am trying to go with the flow but I must admit I am putting that cover up the mask and pretending I'm ok to most people but deep down it's all stressful and too much as I'm flaring with health conditions and major anxiety I'm sure it will be worth it.

Send all the positive vibes to me up north please.

Big hugs Rachael 🥰🩷🤗

Love to see you doing so well, Megan! Do you know The Nap Ministry started by Tricia Hersey? The framing of Rest as resistance has really helped me and my self-critical talk. She’s got a really cool card deck too. @thenapministry on IG or thenapministry.com

Sounds like an amazing time! 🤩

I'm right now for the first time in my adult life on a very "boring" holiday and allow myself to just relax. I'm lying at the pool or the beach reading, frolick in the water and I eat plenty of very nice Italian food... New motto: An arrancino a day keeps the doctor away?!

I alwasy thought of this type of holiday being a bit dull (very arrogant and judgmental of me!), but this was just what I needed and I'm so happy to be here 😊

Congrats on one year! It's definitely continued to brighten my day when I see your letter in my inbox. Serves as a reminder that there are affirming voices in the world advocating for acceptance and kindness in contrast to much of the negativity and toxicity we're exposed to. 🫶

Not much to report this month on my end, I've been keeping myself a bit too busy with work and helping family but am trying to take moments for self care, like the massage and takeout I treated myself to today. 💆🏼‍♀️

I also booked a girl's trip for next month which I'm super excited about and is long overdue 🤗🛫

Sending 🩷💜🩵
