Yes yes yes! Creating is such a powerful way to calm the mind and get into flow. I just painted a geometric mural on a door-sized wall formerly covered in aggressively ugly wallpaper. It was fun to do and it makes me so happy every time I see it. It’s only paint, I made something that *I* like, just for me, and if I get sick of it I can always redo.
I love this. We need the joy and work of creation, and at least I tend to get so bogged down in thinking will someone else find this stupid. The answer is...who cares?
Well, I have two embroidery pieces in my current project bags! One is based on the American Girl Dolls from the 1990s which says "Faithful Friends Forever Be," which I'll be making for my friend. And then I have one for me that says "New Beginnings, Time to Bloom), and it's by the amazing Natalie Gaynor (https://nataliegaynordesigns.co.uk/collections/embroidery-kits/products/time-to-bloom-hand-embroidery-kit). I can't wait to get started on them!
Magically timed reminder that creating for yourself is reason enough, and quite intimately linked with our beliefs around what we feel that we deserve to experience. Literally just finished speaking to my therapist about this. Thank you 🧡
Thank you for the reminder to leave room for my own passion. I desperately want to create more on my own after years of creating only for work.
Hope you manage to prioritise this, Trisha x
Word! In a world that runs on vanity indicators this reminder is much needed

Firstly I really enjoy "aggressively ugly" as a descriptor and secondly I wanna see!

Oh no way!! Natalie is one of the sweetest, funniest, most wonderfully talented people! I'm so glad you're familiar with her work! <3
