I love everything you do here, Megan, and I definitely understand the need to cut back! My favorite posts are your βis it just me orβ and other longer ones where you share about your life and whatβs on your mind. It makes me not feel so alone. I hope that someday Iβll have enough money to live on properly myself, and can do more to support creators like yourself that I really value β€οΈ I hope you have a good break that brings more clarity for you.
I really enjoy the stories of your personal life that you choose to share with us. And veering onto your instagram page, I really appreciate the content of you being joyful - it's much needed in these times and really refreshing. I follow people that share a lot of activist work and sometimes the feed can just get very heavy. I really like being able to turn to your content for some grounding.
This is REALLY helpful to know, thank you - I often get down on myself for not posting enough of the radical, activism-based stuff (lots of people over the years have made me believe that's the only responsible way of using my platform) but I agree with you: we need both. Appreciate you x
Happy Birthday Newsletter! Can't believe it has been a year already!
I enjoy all of your content, Megan. Especially "Is it Just Me or"
You always have timely subjects that resonate with me. Besides seeing what I still need to work on, I often become aware of areas where I have made great progress. And these are wonderful reminders!
Enjoy your holiday! And continue to create those healthy boundaries :)
Michele I have SO appreciated all of your support and feedback throughout the year - I hope one day I'll be able to give you a big ol' thank you hug :) have a beautiful month and see you soon! x
Content that speaks to the newsletter title - I love reading your "is it just me or..." 'are other people feeling this', or 'have you noticed that'. It speaks straight to my heart, is a relief to realise I'm not the only person feeling something (although if I were that shouldn't be a problem), any you put into words what I struggle to construct.

Regular newsletters - do them when it suits you Megan. If it's once a fortnight then once a month, that's cool.
Thank you so much for this newsletter. You started it at the perfect time, this past year was tough and your newsletter helped me a lot to reflect and to grow. I enjoyed all parts of it, sometimes I just wasn't at the right place to read some of your essays, but I always came back to them once I reached the right place. What I enjoyed most were the One-Minute-Reminders... it was always such a happy moment to see them plopping up on my phone... and I also loved your essay typed blog entries, the poems and I absolutely loved hearing from The Queen herself (she is one of the only few people I miss since having quit social media). You created with this space such a wonderful safe space, and I would often take an hour at the weekend to read through old blog entries and through comments. I wish you an amazing break. And I'm looking forward to whatever you choose to do with this space. Lots of love β€
Oh Anna this is so beautiful and reassuring. Thank you SO much for all of the time and attention you've given this space - there are so many things competing for our attention these days and I don't take it for granted that you choose to be here. Wishing you the most peaceful month possible! x
I have been enjoying your news letters for the better part of this last year now. The ones I enjoy the most are the short essay-style ones (like this one!). I always love reading those, because they are so well written and a good reflection on life in general. Anyway, have a good break!
Thank you Laura! I definitely plan on keeping up the essays, they just might end up somewhere other than a newsletter (hopefully π). Appreciate you being here, take care! x
Iβve literally *just* started following you in the last week or so and the reason I did was because I felt like I could relate to what you were saying. The one minute reminders are awesome and itβs great to be able to consume that type of content quickly.
I havenβt opened any emails yet because I have the app so get notifications when you post. I open to read them because Iβve always enjoyed everything from you previously (and I went back to binge some stuff!).
Also, totally relate to the exhaustion of social media which was actually how I ended up here too.
Congrats on your one year + enjoy your break! π₯³
Iβm a free subscriber and ALWAYS open your stuff. I appreciate the one minute reminders and your βis it just meβ posts have me nodding along. Anything related to body positivity, mental health and intersectional feminism grabs my attention really. And you have a lovely voice! Since the Instagram algorithm doesnβt show me much of your posts, Iβd love to see more photos /visuals included in the substack, as long as that doesnβt make a ton of work for you. Enjoy your break and I look forward to whatever content you create next!
My favorite's have been EVERYTHING lol honestly. If I have to choose one though, it's the one minute reminders. They are like a KO punch of kindness and inspiration I have needed. I have both cried and laughed at them.
Seeing your name in my inbox makes me wanna click open! Maybe you could adjust your model to keep your one minute reminders free but shift your longer posts to paid subscribers only? You deserve all the rest and peace. You bring us so much of yourself in a regular basis.
Thank u Trisha! I might experiment with what goes paid and what doesn't, but don't wanna deprive anyone of what they enjoy! Appreciate the feedback and support :) x
What makes me want to click open?? Any time I see your name in my inbox! Both the newsletter and hearing your voice speaking to me are things I look forward to greatly π₯° I understand needing a breakβ¦you deserve every bit of itβ¦and if you decide that keeping up with your newsletter is too much, well, I will understand that too. I would miss your wisdom and positive support greatly but I would understand. You will forever be a Queen to me, no matter what and even though we do not know each other personally I have nothing but immense love for you!! β€οΈβ€οΈ
Kristin this is the loveliest comment ever π Thank you. This is why I show up. Sending you nothing but love - take care and I'll see ur inbox soon! x
As a free subscriber (until today), I was getting the newsletter only through Gmail. Sometimes the newsletter would land in my promotions folder instead of my main inbox.
I think the solution for that isnβt a change to content. Rather, Iβd suggest that if folks want to make sure they see your content that they check Substack like theyβd check a social media site. Indeed, if one prefers the written word to video content, this seems like the place to be.
Hi Megan, I feel bad now ( I know I shouldnβt- guilt/ shame can creep in anywhere anytime even when youβre an old timer like me and think surely Iβm sorted nowππ€£π) about cancelling my subscription but for the moment I feel Iβve got a lot going on - Iβm trying to find the right place for my adult daughter who has I DONT LIKE LABELS BUT THIS BLOODY SOCIETY ALWAYS WANTS TO PUT PEOPLE IN BOXES- a physical and intellectual disability- some people say special needs : I would like to say I have a daughter with EXTRAORDINARY ABILITIESβ¦. Trying to find a solution for my daughter, Rachael, so that she can live her best life. The wonderful Camphill Communities that she used to live in have been systematically dismantled and destroyed by those in officialdom and management who think they know best. These people are theorists and havenβt got a clue. They havenβt even met Rachael but still have the audacity to think they no best for her. So at the moment my head is wrapped round trying to seek whatβs best and that at the moment isnβt leaving me time to enjoy your newsletter. I love your freshness, honesty and kindness. Best wishes to you and your family and say hi to Biff again for me. Peace and happiness from Co. Laois πΈππ
Itβs taken me this long to respond cause Iβve been trying to come up with some useful feedback. Iβm sorry to say Iβve got noneβ¦. Other than please keep writing them IFFFFF itβs nourishing for you because it sure as hell works for me. Your emailsβ¦ each and every one ALWAYS cause me to think, ponder, your beautiful wisdom stays with me and changes my life. I guess theyβre particularly valuable cause I donβt get to follow you on SM any more since deleting the apps. The most important thing is that it all comes from a place of you looking after your darling self, which I trust and hope youβre doing

Welcome, Rebecca! Lovely to have people here who get the social media thing :) hope you're finding this to be a more peaceful space as well! x
