Late to respond, but I definitely wanted to weigh in on this one.
First of all: YES! Second, I wish I was your age when I figured this out. So many years of saying "Yes" because I thought I had to do/should. Or was guilted into it. From friends, and especially some family members. It took me years to realize I had the choice to say No. And NOT feel bad about it. Now I do it all the time. It's extremely empowering. If I experience nagging doubt, I remind myself that there is a bigger NO inside of me that would rather do something else (or nothing) And don't feel the need to explain or apologize. Thanks for this important reminder. :)
So many instances (in regards to a personal relationship) in which I should have said it but I could not find the strength 😔 I am still working on it.
